| TIPS FOR VISITING A PENNSYLVANIA MASONIC LODGE |
| PROVING YOU ARE ENTITLED TO ENTER |
 |
Be aware that when visiting in Pennsylvania you are required to have a paid-up current year's dues card or receipt, a Travel Certificate, or other proof of membership and current good standing, with you. If no member can vouch for you, the Tyler of the Lodge will arrange for a committee to meet with you in the Examining Room, to verify your credentials and claims that you are a Mason. You should be prepared to prove your Masonic membership in an appropriate manner, although there is no specific ritualistic form that you should follow. |
| DRESS CODE |
 |
We want you to feel comfortable and welcome when you are with us. We
provide courtesy aprons for members and visitors, but you are most
welcome to wear your traditional Masonic dress when visiting. Our
minimum dress code for members and visitors would be what is considered
"business casual" today-- a collared shirt, nice pants and shoes-- no
denim or sneakers. As of 2010, we no longer require a suit coat and
necktie for admission to any Pennsylvania Lodge. Lodge officers,
however, wear tails, or tuxedo, and bowtie, and many of our members will
continue to "dress up" to go to Lodge by their own personal choice, and
because of tradition. Regardless of how you dress, please come and join
us for Masonic inspiration and fellowship!

| VISITING THE MASONIC TEMPLE IN PHILADELPHIA |
 |
You can take a guided tour of the Masonic Temple in Philadelphia (see hours of operation, here)
If you are interested in attending a Lodge meeting contact our Grand Secretary's office several weeks before you come to Philadelphia and they will be able to tell you what nights the Lodges are conducting stated (business/program) meetings, or what degrees they might be conferring. You can reach them at gsoffice@pagrandlodge.org or by calling (215) 988-1900 when you get to Philadelphia. |
| OUR RITUAL IS PROBABLY VERY DIFFERENT FROM YOURS |
 |
You will probably find that if you come from out of state, our Masonic ritual is very different from what you have seen in your Lodge. There is a good reason for this, and it is explained in more detail at http://pagrandlodge.org/mlam/boaf/index.html
