SUMMARY:Researching & Writing “Doneraile Court: The Story of The Lady Freemason”
DESCRIPTION:In her book\, Kathleen Aldworth Foster details the life and times of The Lady Freemason\, Elizabeth (St. Leger) Aldworth. Elizabeth's journey with Freemasonry began in the pre-Grand Lodge era and ended when she died in 1773/1775\, at the dawning of the American Revolution. During this time\, Elizabeth went from her unexpected initiation to being an active lifelong member. She made public appearances in full regalia and received a full Masonic funeral. Kathleen explains the process of her 15 years of writing and research; her personal genealogical quest; the Aldworth family connections in England\, Ireland\, and the U.S.; and overcoming the immense self-doubt that can stop so many writers of both fiction and non-fiction from completing their work. \n\n \n \n \n\n \nOpens in new window\nPDF Download\nWord Download\nExcel Download\nPowerPoint Download\nDocument Download\n\n \n \n \n\n \n\n \n \n \n\n \nOpens in new window\nPDF Download\nWord Download\nExcel Download\nPowerPoint Download\nDocument Download\n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nOpens in new window\nPDF Download\nWord Download\nExcel Download\nPowerPoint Download\nDocument Download\n\n \n \n \n \nAttend VirtuallyAttend LiveKathleen Aldworth Foster \n\nKathleen Aldworth Foster is the author of "Doneraile Court: The Story of The Lady Freemason." Although classified as historical fiction\, the author went to great lengths to uncover the true story of Elizabeth (St. Leger) Aldworth\, who was known as The Lady Freemason in 18th century Ireland. As a young woman in 1712\, Elizabeth was caught spying on Freemasons in the middle of an initiation ritual in her family's home. Legend has it\, the men\, including her own father\, were forced to make a life or death decision. They chose life\, and to this day\, Elizabeth St. Leger is the only female member of Freemasonry recognized in Ireland\, where her portrait hangs in the Grand Lodge of Dublin. Her childhood home\, Doneraile Court\, is in County Cork. It's owned by the state of Ireland and is open to the public. \n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n\n \nOpens in new window\nPDF Download\nWord Download\nExcel Download\nPowerPoint Download\nDocument Download\n \n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n \n\n \nOpens in new window\nPDF Download\nWord Download\nExcel Download\nPowerPoint Download\nDocument Download\n \n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \nOpens in new window\nPDF Download\nWord Download\nExcel Download\nPowerPoint Download\nDocument Download\n\n \n

SUMMARY:Indian Degree at the Indian Echo Caverns
DESCRIPTION:Rain or Shine \nThe 4th biennial outside Low Vale Degree will be held at Indian Echo Caverns in Hummelstown\, PA\, directly above the cave in an open field near Swatara Creek. A modified Master Mason’s degree will be conferred by the visiting Oklahoma Masonic Indian Degree Team\, comprised of Native American Freemasons from the jurisdiction of Oklahoma\, which travels across the country to confer a unique Third Degree upon one of their candidates. For the second section of the degree\, the officers change into full Native American regalia and deliver the Indian portion of the degree\, while remaining in accordance with the Oklahoma Grand Lodge ritual. This will be the first time it will be held in Pennsylvania\, and more unique\, on the property that was once home to the Susquehannock Indian Tribe in Pennsylvania. \nA catered meal will be held from 4 – 6:30 p.m.\, during which the Indian Degree team will perform Indian dances. Optional tours of the caves will be available at 4:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.\, at $18 each and are limited to 25 people in a group. An email will go out closer to the event to inquire about the number of interested brethren to see if additional tours will be needed. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. A tent will be available\, and string lights and tiki torches will illuminate the evening event. \nThe cost is $50 per brother\, which includes a beautifully crafted\, unique commemorative coin. Dress is business casual. Order your tickets now\, because the Indian Degree usually sells out; either online through EventBrite or email Brother Jason A. Martin\, P.M.\, at jamartin1016@comcast.net.
