On Sept. 8, 2015 Oriental Lodge No. 460, Orangeville, sponsored a program prior to its stated meeting for all members and guests. Members of “Thompsons Battery C” Civil War reenactment unit performed a wonderful demonstration of how Union Army Artillery units worked and fought using an authentic 12 Pound model 1836 Field Howitzer cannon. The unit was comprised of Gary Hoover (Captain) of Lodge No. 106, Williamsport, Eric Stahley, MSA (Lieutenant), Washington Lodge No. 265, Tom Shultz, Hazel-Azalea-Fellowship Lodge No. 327, Hazelton, Michael Donahue, Acacia Lodge No. 579, Taylor; and Bob Thomas, MSA, PM of Pulaski Lodge No. 216 Pottsville.

Several “shots” rocked the countryside. Bro. J. Kevin Jones, D.D.G.M. of the 35th Masonic was given the honor of letting loose steel shot and performed gallantly.

More information can be found on the unit’s website, http://thompsonsbatteryc.org/.
